Hydrogeology, hydrogeochemistry, remote sensing and GIS

Research Interests

My main thrust areas of research interest are hydrogeology and hydrochemistry with emphasizing upon objectives such as (i) mapping of aquifers using hydrogeological studies, remote sensing & GIS techniques, (ii) understanding groundwater flow systems using water table information, hydraulic conductivity etc., (iii) assessment of surface water and groundwater quality using multivariate statistical methods, graphical methods, remote sensing & GIS etc., and (iv) delineation of mechanism of ion dissolution process in surface water and groundwater.  

Research Grants/Projects

DST-SERB Core funded project entitled "Characterization of elevated manganese concentration in rivers, ponds, lakes, wetlands and shallow groundwater in the Imphal valley of Manipur" status ongoing (Budget Rs. 39.47 lakhs).

Project entitled "Assessment of Irrigation Water Quality Index (IWQI) and Water Quality Index (WQI) of groundwater in parts of Bathinda block of Punjab". Research Seem Money, Central University of Punjab, Bathinda. Project Cost Rs.3 lakhs.
