76th Independence Day Celebrations
Glimpses of 76th Independence Day Celebrations:
While addressing the officials, faculty and staff on 76th Independence Day, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Raghavendra P. Tiwari stated that during the nation’s struggle for independence, freedom fighters from different states of India sacrificed their lives so that their future generations could live in an independent country following our ancient knowledge traditions and philosophy of Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah. He explained the significance of the tri-color in Tiranga, with a saffron colour band on top representing our country's strength and courage, a white colour band in the middle representing peace and truth, and a green colour band at the bottom representing fertility and growth. He asserted that every citizen should live his/her life based on the 24 principles depicted by the 24 spokes of Ashok Chakra placed at the centre of our National Flag, which signifies that there is life in movement and death in stagnation.
During his address, Prof. Tiwari inspired teachers to act as mentors (Gurus) and work to develop critical thinking, creativity and learning abilities among students through experiential learning, besides enhancing their self-domain knowledge. He motivated university employees to stay committed to ensuring the intellectual development and capacity building of youngsters so that they can contribute to the nation’s development as global citizens.
